Terms of use

Last updated: 25 July 2026

The short version: the service is free and provided as-is. Only upload audio you own or are entitled to process. What you do with the resulting stems is your responsibility.

1. Agreement to these terms

By using VocaSplitter at vocasplitter.com you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the service. They apply alongside our privacy policy.

2. What the service does

VocaSplitter accepts an audio file, runs an automated source separation model over it, and returns individual stem files — typically vocals, drums, bass, piano and other, depending on the mode you select. The service is provided free of charge and does not require an account.

Separation is an estimate produced by a machine learning model, not a recovery of the original studio multitrack. We make no promise about the quality of any particular result. Some recordings separate very cleanly and others do not, for reasons explained in our guide to how separation works.

3. Your responsibilities regarding content

This is the part that matters most. By uploading a file you confirm that:

  • You own the audio, or you otherwise have the rights or permission needed to process it and to create derivative files from it.
  • You will not use the service to infringe anyone's copyright, moral rights, performers' rights, trade marks or privacy.
  • You accept that separating a recording creates a derivative work, and that publishing, performing publicly, distributing or monetising that derivative may require permission from the rights holders in both the recording and the underlying composition.
  • You will not upload material that is unlawful, or that contains private recordings of people made without their knowledge or consent.
  • You will not use the service to produce material intended to impersonate a real person, including synthetic voice cloning built from separated vocals.

Because files are deleted after processing, we do not review or monitor uploads. Responsibility for what you process, and for what you subsequently do with the output, rests with you. Our guide to stem separation and copyright explains the general position in more detail, though it is information rather than legal advice.

4. Acceptable use

Please do not:

  • Attempt to overload, disrupt or gain unauthorised access to the service or the systems behind it.
  • Use automated scripts, scrapers or bulk tooling against the service. It is sized for people separating songs, not for industrial pipelines.
  • Resell access to the service, or present it as your own product.
  • Circumvent, remove or interfere with the advertising that funds the free processing.
  • Use the service in a way that breaks the law where you are.

We may limit or block access where use appears abusive or threatens availability for everyone else.

5. Rights in your files and in the output

We claim no ownership of the audio you upload. Whatever rights you had before you used the service, you still have afterwards, and we acquire no licence to your material beyond what is technically necessary to run the separation you requested.

We also claim no ownership of the stems produced from your file. Note, though, that we cannot grant you rights we never had — if the source recording belongs to someone else, the stems derived from it remain subject to their rights.

6. Availability and changes

The service is offered on a best-effort basis. It may be unavailable for maintenance, may be slow when the queue is busy, and may change or be discontinued without notice. Long or unusual files may fail to process. Because generated stems are deleted after the job completes, please download anything you need during your session — we cannot retrieve past results.

7. Advertising

Written pages on this site carry third-party advertising, which pays for the free processing. We do not control the content of individual ads and are not responsible for third-party sites they lead to. How advertising cookies work, and how to opt out, is covered in the privacy policy.

8. Disclaimer

The service and the written guides are provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that any particular separation will meet your requirements. The guides are general information and are not professional or legal advice.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, or for lost profits, lost data, lost audio files or missed deadlines, arising from your use of the service. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. Since the service is provided free of charge, where liability cannot be excluded it is limited to the minimum permitted by applicable law.

10. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify us against claims, damages and reasonable costs arising from audio you uploaded without the necessary rights, or from your use of separated output in a way that infringes someone else's rights.

11. Changes to these terms

These terms may be updated from time to time. The date at the top of the page shows when they last changed, and continued use of the service after a change means the revised terms apply.

12. Contact

Questions about these terms, or rights enquiries, go to vocasplitter@gmail.com. General support enquiries are covered on the contact page.
